Iran Military on Highest Alert Despite US Ceasefire Deal
High tension levels still exist following the announcement by Brigadier-General Mohammad Akrami Nia of Iran's military standing "at the highest level of readiness," while a ceasefire between the United States and Iran exists. Diplomatic issues include an announcement by an Iranian official that during discussions held in Islamabad, the U.S. was asking for full access to the Strait of Hormuz and disposal of 60% enriched uranium, while the latter was willing to unfreeze $6 billion worth of assets. The discussions collapsed when the proposal presented was turned down by Donald Trump. In addition, Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, shared news about a secret visit he made to the UAE during wartime, while Qatar and UAE leaders were meeting to discuss security issues. Furthermore, Israel’s attacks in Tyre and Roumin areas of Lebanon have left five people dead.
